The Sun Peaks Music Festival is a three day event which turns the mountain resort of Sun Peaks – just outside Kamloops BC into the Festival Campus. The main centre of activity is the Delta Sun Peaks Conference Facility. Participants arrive Friday morning / afternoon and check in at the at the Festival Office in the Delta Sun Peaks. Friday afternoon is adjudication day for Concert Choirs and Jazz Bands. Each ensemble receives a 30 minute* adjudicated performance followed by a 30 minute* workshop. Friday evening, there is a reception for participating Directors and festival adjudicators. The reception is a great opportunity to enjoy some time with friends and colleagues. Students participate in a social event sponsored by Ellison Travel & Tours.

Saturday morning and afternoon is adjudication day for Concert Bands and Jazz Ensembles. Each ensemble receives a 30 minute* adjudicated performance followed by a 30 minute* workshop. Saturday night the tables turn as our participants become the audience for the Gala Concert. Each year Con Brio Festivals brings together outstanding professional musicians to perform music that will engage and inspire our young musicians. There are two performances to ensure guaranteed seating for all.

To close the festival, all of our participants come together to create three ensembles: The Festival Massed Chorus, and the two Festival Massed Bands. Sunday morning begins with the Massed Choral voices working together to raise the roof with their voices and is followed by the foundation shaking sound of the Massed Bands.

Every aspect of the Sun Peaks Music Festival is based on active learning through participation. Students and teachers alike will leave the Festival enriched with new skills and ideas.
